Default Quick Question, Coolant !

well guys i just want to see what you guys think.... Well my car hardly gets drove, not even a mile or so a week.... But I replaced my water pump and all and what not, put cam and all in it... But for some reason I seem to smell antifreeze on the passenger side, not strong or anything... Im not losing much coolant if any at all, no coolant in the oil... Question is do you guys think i could have a leaking head gasket... The car runs awsome, and put down great numbers on the dyno a few days ago....

Also if i had a leaky head gasket dont you think I would have blown it by spraying it by now....???

I just dont like smelling coolant so im tryig to see were or why im smelling it

By the way When i put the car back together after cam install i used dexron coolant, then when i put the new water pump on i used the green universal coolant.... (if that matters) so i know there is a mixture of coolants in there....
Also car never runs hot....

Don't mix! I accidentally put some green stuff in when I needed to top off one time and the water pump started leaking that week. I flushed the entire system and filled back up with only dex-cool and it never leaked again.

This is ironic because my buddy and I were just talking about which coolant to use earlier. He is certain that dex-cool is bad and we should use the green stuff. Mentioned a law suit with GM etc.

if the green stuff says (any make, any model) you will be okay. the dexcool doesnt mix with the older green crap. the new green stuff will mix with all coolants.
