The 4l60e
What's the difference between the 4l60e's in the 3.4, 3.8, and the 5.7 Camaros. Or is there one. I need a new trans for my 3.8 and want to know which are compatible. It's a 95 so i'm sure the 98-02 transmissions aren't compatible. Thanks guys

I believe it is just the bellhousings that are different when you go from a v8 to the 3.8's...so it is not a direct bolt in, you would need to figure out how to get them matched up...I believe it is the same for the 3.4's as well, but I am not sure about them...93-02 transmissions should be the same...

The 95 model year is the only year that uses a certain set of solenoids, separator plate, pump and internal wiring harness. Also being this is a V6 the bell housing and input shaft are different. I would strongly suggest getting an exact replacement for your vehicle or having your unit rebuilt for you. The v8 models are not going to work for you. Vince

Kinda late but thanks for the help guys......it's been grindin really bad today.
I just wanna get an idea of the problem so here are my symptoms:
Before it would grind intermittely ONLY when you were not accelerating....sometimes it wouldn't grind at all sometimes it wouldn't stop grinding.
Now today it's been grinding...accelerating or not. It's also intermittent like before. There isn't any pattern that I can distinguish in the grinding.
