Default no dash lights

last night while i was driving my car, the dash lights went out. So i went home and began to examine the problem. blown fuse. no biggie. put a new fuse in, and by the time i got down the block it blew. i put another fuse in, and had to turn my dimmer switch all the way up to get my gauges lit, and then the fuse blew again. anyone got any ideas of what is wrong? i'm thinking its the dimmer switch but im not sure.

could it also be a stereo issue? i have an aftermarket stereo with an aftermarket wiring harness i got from a guy who had it in a silverado. could that be causing complications?

Could be. Try disconnecting the aftermarket head unit's harness and see if that stops the fuses from blowing.

Ya something was pulling too many watts. Cool that you figured it out.
