Default Need Help!!!!! Rebuilt 350

I know this is in the wrong discussion, but i need some quick advise!!

I bought this 63 impala with a rebuilt 350(rebuilt about 2 years ago). When i test drove it the guy told me that the motor wasnt running right(missing real bad and back firing thru the carb). Once i got her home, i checked to make sure all of the wires were in the right order and changed the plugs. Once i took out the spark plug from the #3 cylinder, i realized that this might be my problem. The plug looked brand new and had gas on it!!! All of the other ones were dirty except for this one. I checked and the plug is getting spark. So its not the wires, cap, or plug, what could it be??

Thanks for the help!!!!

Have you done a compression check yet? Tried switching plugs? Just get a new set of plugs and throw them in and see. fouled plugs will do funny things. Any idea what your timing is? Are you sure all your vac lines are hooked up right?

I'd change the wires, cap, rotor and plugs. Fouled plugs really do make the car act stupid. Get a good tune up on the carb and also verify that the timing is correct.

DO a compression test. Is the cyl with the wet plug a lot lower than the others?
