Default problem with alternator

I installed high rise valve covers to make way for my 1.6 rr, the problem that i have now is that the alternator doesnt fit in the supporting bracket no more , because it is obstructed by the valve cover, any body had this problem .

Thanks for the help

Everyone does.

That's why vendors make LT1-specific valve covers notched to clear the alternator. You have a few options.

1.) A few companies make LT1-specific covers that are clearanced for the alternator (Canton, fatrodder on eBay, etc.).

2.) Relocate your alternator. There are a few companies that relocate the alternator to the A/C compressor location. Not cheap, but an alternative.

3.) Hammer/clearance the covers you have now. Not pretty, but cheapest of them all!

IMO, go with #1. Pick up a set designed for the LT1.

Clearance the stock valve covers to work with the 1.6 rr's and reinstall them.
