Suspension plan review, street/strip
Car is a full-weight 2002 Z28 A4 with a Yank PT4000 converter, 3.23 gears, and Kooks LT/ORY with a Magnaflow catback. It is a 90% daily driver, but I run at the track every once in a while and on the street almost every weekend. I will most likely keep it stock internals, but might do heads/cam one day and really have no aspirations to climb the fastest SI list. I plan to switch gears eventually to a 3.73 or 3.90, and run either a 275/40R17 or 315/35R17 Mickey Thompson DR every day. I am working on a budget, so I always keep my eyes open for used parts but will probably just buy new stuff. UMI adjustable LCAs (poly/rod) are already on the car, but the suspension is otherwise stock. So here is the plan, the shocks are at the top of the list because I want to lower the car for appearance reasons:
- Strange front single adj coil-overs with 275-300# springs (keeping the A/C and all accessories incl the bumper support)
- Cut the stock rear springs for a 1.0-1.5" drop and install Comp Eng shocks at the stiffest setting
- UMI weld-on LCA relo brackets
- UMI boxed SFCs, welded in
- UMI full length adj torque arm
- UMI torque arm relo bracket
- UMI adj panhard bar (this will be moved up if I get 11" rear wheels and need to center the rear for clearance)

I forgot to add that my car pulled a 1.65 60' on Friday night on 275/40R17 Nitto 555R IIs with air temps of 40-50 degrees but I couldn't leave as hard as I wanted to or it would spin.

Damn 1.65 with those mods? Thats pretty damn good, I cant wait to see what my PT4000 will do. In building my car, I went with the BMR track pack, 300# front springs on Qa1 single ajustable coil overs, the rears are Qa1 single ajustable with stock springs. BMR Weld in Relocation brackets, control arms, and the car came with a spohn panhard and I belive its a spohn anti sway/drag bar. I also did a bmr K member but thats not importaint to hook the car.
Good luck with the setup, I cant wait to see what mine will do too.
