Default Alright guys a few more ?'s

Ok. So im going to be fixing my lifter tick in a few weeks. its tickign and is quite annoying. Its just my drivers side. So heres my question. Do i hafta replace both side of lifters? Also this seems the time to upgrade?? Do i need to upgrade my pushrods or anything? I kinda feel wierd just upgrading one head. Also should i go ahead and put a mild cam in? I dont want anything hardcore. Also you hafta get a tune with a cam correct? Thanks for the help guys. Also forgot to add, that sumtimes the car back fires when i get on it or rev it alil. I do have headers on it, and the car hasn't been tuned. But i didnt know if a bad lifter could trigger this?

If it were me I would do both. You dont have to pull the cam out to do lifters so the cam is your choice. If you do the cam you will need/want a tune, and a spring and push rod upgrade. Do you have a 6 speed or a auto transmission?

Since you have a 6 speed and you'll have alot of the engine apart go for the cam if you have the $$$. Check out the thunder racing tr224 cam on a 114lsa. After a tune it will make nice smooth power.

Idk i've really been againest doing a cam. Just for the fact its a daily driver and just the sound of them. I mean dnot get me wrong they sound great for a performance car. But i mean mines not going to be putting out 800hp. And i dont wanta over cam my motor like a lot of people do. I'd do a really mild cam if i did one. And to me it just doesnt seem worth the money. But your absolutly right it seems like it'd be the right time to do it.
