my trans went in my 98 camaro and i was wondering if a 4L60E transmission out of a 98 corvette is the same? and will it work in my 98 camaro?

No case is different , input shaft and stator are different. output shaft is different. wont work period

o that really sucks i dont have very much money money considering im a 20 year old kidd who got laid off and i found an amazing deal on a 98 corvette 4l60e trans, what other 4l60e trans will work or is it only a camaro firebird or trans am 4l60e that will work?

Pretty sure its only going to be Fbody transmissions that will work. Watch the classifieds section, you might be able to pick up a used one from somebody who is upgrading for fairly cheap.

You can use the LSX truck based trans 5.3 and 6.0 by changing the linkage shaft and the tail housing out,
