Default LS2 Timing Chain - How Much Slop?

97 Vette - I'm in the middle of a heads / cam swap. I just installed an LS2 timing set and have a lot of loose chain (1/8" to 1/4" slop on the opposite of the tight side. What are the tollerances on timing chains?

Is it hard to pull off the crank timing sprocket off a LS1? Do you need any tools like a slidehammer and gear puller or can you just pry it off with 2 little prybars or something?

Use a 3 jaw puller, just like you would on any other engine.

There is a tool for removal, about $10 on the auction site.

I took my three jaw puller and ground off the back side of the jaws to get in behind it.
