Default Re: Cam swap and tuning.

a full dyno tuning alone usually runs from 400-700. a basic tune for just idle and deleting codes and little things runs about 150.

cam installs run from 350-500+ from what i've seen. i dont know the going rate in texas though.

The reason I am asking is becase i was quated $650 for installation and $375 for a full tune. Is this a good price? Keep in mind this is a reputable place.

seems a bit on high side but installations arent cheap. what exactly are they installing? and are there any local board members who do installs, i know texas has a lot of members. you could try and see if theres anyone over there who does installs and save some money.

i did my own cam install; cam and full valvetrain, ls6 intake, 2x timing chain, ported oil pump. it wasnt that hard.
