they have awesome grip they are the stickiest tire you can buy for a 19 inch rim. 19 is just an odd size with not much support by tire manufaturers

I am a big fan of Michelin PS2s. I have been watching/buying used 295 and 305/30-19s on eBay for around $80-$200 for decent tires, with 50%-90% tread remaining (some have been professionally patched from the inside, but they look and balance just fine). These are $500-$550 tires new.
If you are needing 295 or 305 sizes for your rears, I would strongly recommend this, at least to start with. For the money, you will get a nice tire, with excellent performance, and should last you a couple years (or at least give you a good idea of how they survive as rears). Once you get into these larger/wider 19s, any good tire is going to be somewhat pricey, and selection starts to get slimmer.
