stall question
I have a 99 ss with headers/ y pipe, 3.73 gears, hardened pushrods, dual springs, ms4 cam, stock 10 bolt....going to be driving daily...what size stall should i use??? ive heard anywhere from 3200-5000...i was considering a 3600 would this be good for the street, i dont want something thats going to make me hate driving it...i dont mind it being noticable because i know it will be but i dont want it to be rediculous so its always on the converter....also what brand etc etc. anyone wanna sell me a used one or a new one for cheap.....(300-600$$$) ive read about yank, vigilante, ptc, and tci....theres also some on ebay im unsure of the brand but they are fairly cheap? anyone know anything about the quality of these converters? expert advice please i need to know asap im doing the cam swap next week.

Durability is must for torque converters, trying to save a few dollars can cost you thousands when it takes out the transmission. The weakest link is the lock up clutch. Typically if the converter has a billet front and billet lock up piston, it is a strong converter. I would suggest our 3C stall in the Billet Street/Strip Series. The 3C is rated at 3500-3700 and will have very nice street manors with the 3.73 gears. Here is a link to our website with more info. Good luck and PM or call if you have any more questions.
