Question worth it?

just wondering if a ported stock TB and ported stock MAF as worth the gains on a bolt on LS1(cam and heads WILL come later) also where can i get a ported TB and MAF at? thanx guys

Ported tb is good for 5-7 rwhp...You'll notice it most in the throttle responce...maf is a waste and could lead to probs.A few of the vendors here do it for 60-70 bucks.

forget porting the MAF....

the ported TB is a pretty good gain though.

They make a plastic housing for cheap for the LS1. I experimented with it and it works great with the ported TB. If it doesnt work out (every car is different) just toss the stock housing back on.

Having a free flowing intake helps low end grunt; and if your engine is cammed you can pull more air definately making it a worthwhile gain. You can probably find this housing for your car if its a 3 piece design. Mustang aftermarket is pretty large.

MAF modding is ussually looked down upon (especially here) because it is liable to create issues. I however recomend it if its a cheap and reversable expirement or you plan on getting a tune at some point.
