Default LQ4-LS1 front cover seal compatability

Im putting together an 04 LQ4 engine, with an f body balancer. Is the I.D on the crank seal the same between the LQ4 and LS1? Im questioning it because now that I have my engine in it seems pretty hard to crank over, I know it was turning over fine when it was on the stand but I dont remember trying to turn it over after I installed the balancer.

I believe all ls engines have the same diameter crank pulley snout. If there was such a difference in size that it is causing the motor to turn hard it would have pushed the seal into the cover.

Thanks for replying but I found the problem, the steel bellhousing is interfering with the flywheel. Should have checked that before I put it all together.

Yep..They are the same. I just put a Powerbond F body underdrive pulley on a 05 LQ4. No problems or leaks at all.
