Very interesting cruise control quirk
98 Z28 6MT ASR/TCS - Third brake light works.
If I press the SET button, I sometimes feel the gas pedal being depressed and sometimes not. When it does, it cannot keep a steady speed of 50mph. If I force it to increase speed by keeping the momentary switch all the way to the right, then it feels like it wants to maintain the speed but it unable to do so, usually losing speed anyway.
Can the throttle cable be adjusted using the plastic piece inline with the cables. Or is this a faulty combination switch?
My service manual is in the mail

there is a motor that controls the throttle cable, and a module underneath the engine on the drivers side
i would guess one of those is bad.. probably the motor would be my guess.. or a bad connection somewhere

check your cruise control switch,it is mounted on the brake pedal. try using your toe of you shoe and put pressure but against the backside of the brake pedal and engage your cruise control is you can get it to engage and stay then you have a faulty cruise control switch.
