Installed the level 2 performabuilt today
well me and a friend install my level 2/billet 3600 today. I have to say this trans is great! I do a good bit of city driving so I wanted a sort of tight for daily driving but I wanted a decient high stall for the track.
Well Performabuilt built just what I wanted. The trans shift smooth and firm. And just doing normal driving it feels stock. My rpms are around 2500 or less before lockup with 1/4 throttle. I got on it a bit; half throttle or more and my rpms went to 3600-3800. The lockup locks up hard and stays locked.
My car will lock up at 43 mph in OD and which is what the computer is set at.
I havent finish installing my temp gauge and I want to put my cooler in a different location with a fan. So I have that left to do this weekend. I'll post pics of my cooler location later. But so far this thing is nice. My car runs at a much lower rpm(due to failing lockup in the old stall) And is very smooth feeling. (I had some vibriations with my old tranny)
Great Product guys! Thanks

Does your shifter feel spongy?? I got my level 2 and 3000 stall put in and I noticed how the shifter doesn't snap into gear like it did with the stock trans and stall. When putting it in reverse I would have to shake the shifter a little before it goes into reverse. I'm not worried about about it but can that shifter be adjusted or is that just the way it is??

The cable can be adjusted, it can also do this if the bolts that hold the bracket on the pan back out. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust it after awhile or if the bracket is slightly bent etc.
There is no way it is anything in the pan unless the bolt that holds the spring down is not tight or there is wear in the 'comb' both of which I doubt entirely.
There are writeups available online for adjusting the a4 shifter cable, its pretty simple.

Its possible I guess that the spring could be weaker maybe. I have not run into that but its possible. I would do this unhook the linkage from the trans and move it by had there should be very distinc clicks for each gear, I cant say how hard it should be since it just a feeling except they should be defined.

Hey ran the lv2 tranny for over 2 years and its still going strong in my bros car. The lv2 tranny rocks. On the shifter I would double check your linkage make sure that its in the right position when you install and its adj. also double check the nut that goes on the tranny.. I had no problem with shifter and drag raced my car every weekend. here is a low 10sec pass
