Exclamation Need Help From Some LSX Gurus

Alright to start I have a 2001 trans am mostly stock. I am having a problem with the car breaking up in third and fourth gear and I get a random cylinder misfire code under aggressive throttle . The problem comes and goes so I never seem to be logging when it acts up. Plugs look good but ill be changing them anyway...fuel filter was replaced not to long ago and the pump was good last time I had the gauge on the fuel rail. any input would be great...

After it misfires in 3rd and 4th, does it runs fine when you slow down?

Sounds like plug wires. I had a similar problem at 165,000 miles. Did it in higher gears under load. Sometimes it would idle a little rough, but never a solid miss. Replaced the plug wires and it ran like a champ!

i like the plug and wire idea. buddy had a slightly loose cam or crank position sensor (cant remember which) that was giving him problems similar to yours where the computer would pull back timing for misfires.
