Default LS6 PCV Swap?!

I'm looking to change from an LS1 to an LS6 PCV system.

I've read that there are two models of LS6 PCV's though. Apparently there is a 2001-2003, and a 2004 specific model.

What should I go with? Any specific reasoning?

I put the Ls6 valley cover on. I followed the ls1howto guide so I have the #12568002. Cutting that piece of the block in the valley was a pain - aluminum shavings go everywhere. I prepped it well but there is still risk there of getting that crap in your motor. I think a good catch can might be a better option.

I already have a catch can.

The new valve covers I got do not function with an LS1 PCV system. I'm forced to go with the LS6 Valley Cover.

I'm just curious to know what is the better one to go with? Is the only difference between the two an internal PCV valve?

i have the 01-03 ls6 pcv on my 2001 motor. it's an ls6 block so it didn't require any cutting, it didn't use a drop of oil until i put the fast intake on. no i am going to invest in a revextreme catch can and run it with the ls6 pcv setup.

i installed a ls6 valley cover that was removed from a 2004 gto and installed on a 2000 trans am and had to cut the block in spot. very easy job and i didn't see any difference between the 01-03 and the 04 valley covers. the only thing i did notice is that on the earlier years, they still used the pcv valve as whare the 04 gto's have a straight peaice of hard rubber hose
