Default Help with identifying some connectors in 2002 truck engine harness.

Hi ,

I´m a little lost in identifying some of the connectors on my 2002 truck engine harness.(5.3L L59 engine from a Suburban with PCM serv.no 12200411)
I pretty much got everything in a box , with some connectors hanging of the engine (not complete with accesories) unattached , so help would be very appreciated

I have attached some pictures of the harness and numbered the connectors I haven´t identified:

Tr_eng_harn_1.jpg
#1 Fuel composition sensor connector (Flexfuel engine)
#2 O2 sensor (Drivers side rear)
#3 PRNDL Switch
#4 PRNDL Switch
#5 O2 sensor (Drivers side front)

Tr_eng_harn_2.jpg
#1 ???

Tr_eng_harn_3.jpg
#1 AC Accumulator "Switch"
#2 Coolant level/temp???
#3 MAF connector
#4 O2 sensor (passenger side front)
#5 O2 sensor (passenger side rear)

Tr_eng_harn_4.jpg
#1 EVAP

Tr_eng_harn_5.jpg
(Bolts under in front of oilpan and goes to right side of engine , starter stuff , cranksensor etc)
#1 ??? (Has one black wire and one white)
#2 AC Compressor Coil
#3 AC

Thanks in advance.

Regards Marko

Tr_eng_harn_1.jpg
#1 Looks to be Crank POS sensor
#2 O2 sensor
#3 Park neutral position Switch
#4 Park neutral position Switch
#5 O2 sensor

Tr_eng_harn_2.jpg
#1 ?

Tr_eng_harn_3.jpg
#1 ?
#2 Coolant temp
#3 MAF Connector
#4 O2 sensor
#5 o2 sensor

Tr_eng_harn_4
#1 Cant see wire color, so by the connectors around it, I'd say knock sensor conn.

Tr_eng_harn_5
#1 EVAP
#2 AC Compressor
#3 AC

Don't Quote me on this, but without wire colors, I wont know for sure.

These are hard to ident. Double check with a service manual, it would help if it was partially installed on an engine:

Tr_eng_harn_1.jpg
#1 Not CPS - this connector is near the left side of the trans. crossmember, although I have never seen it before on a truck. Could be fuel related or transfer case?
#2 O2 sensor (Drivers side rear)
#3 PRNDL Switch
#4 PRNDL Switch
#5 O2 sensor (Drivers side front)

Tr_eng_harn_2.jpg
#1 ?

Tr_eng_harn_3.jpg
#1 AC Accumulator "Switch"
#2 Coolant Level - possibly
#3 MAF
#4 O2 sensor (passenger side front)
#5 O2 sensor (passenger side rear)

Tr_eng_harn_4
#1 This is located near the Throttle Body and Alternator, I believe it to be the Evap Solenoid on top of the intake. It -could- be CTS, but the wire doesn't appear long enough to reach.

Tr_eng_harn_5
#1 Don't remember this one
#2 AC Compressor Coil
#3 AC

Thanks for your replies.

I edited the first post with some more info and a better picture of Tr_eng_harn_5.jpg

The two PRNDL switch connectors (if correct) on Tr_eng_harn_1.jpg , were do they usually connect in the vehicle?
#3 has 6 wires , #4 has 4 wires (Seems like a lot of wires for that )
Also #1 seems to be odd , it´s not CPS.

If don´t identify the connectors the easy way with the help from you guys , guess I´ll just have to measure or take the harness apart.

Regards Marko

The PRNDL Switch connectors attach to a housing on the drivers side of the 4l60E.

I'm wondering what #1 is also...looks kinda out of place.

Hard to tell from the pic but if #1 is a 3-wire connector, that's the fuel composition sensor connector for running E85 in a flex-fuel engine.

Spend a little cashola, [I think about $35.00] and susbscribe to ALLDATADIY.COM...
Use the yr of the engine, and you'll be able to see all the schematics, engine data, etc, and be able to print them off...

Hi ,

If you are refering to the Tr_eng_harn_1.jpg and #1 connector it has 3 wires - White/Pink/Black.
I can´t find the pinouts for that in the excel-file i downloaded in this thread:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-together.html (Pcm differences.xls)

I have a PCM with serv.no 12200411 and identified it on this page:
http://chevythunder.com/LS1%20compon...Identification

So in the file "Pcm differences.xls" I´m looking at the listing for "Fbody 2001".

Input on the #1 connector in Tr_eng_harn_2.jpg , #1 connector in Tr_eng_harn_5.jpg (Should be located near the steering servo or something) , anyone?

Thanks

Regards Marko

Yes, White/Pink/Black are the correct colors for the Flex-fuel connector. That's item 1 in the 1st picture.

Ok , thanks.

I edit the first post again , still 2 connectors not identified , and one uncertain.

I marked them with bold question marks.

If someone has the info it would be very helpful , plan on starting to delete things I don´t need in the harness this weekend.

I suppose the right thing to do is to verify/measure everything before deleting

Thanks , Marko
