Honestly, not very. 79 z28 t top cars were a dime a dozen. There are still alot of them around. 72 had lower production numbers because of a workers strike. Production was around 68,651. 79 production numbers were 282,571 In a few more years it will be worth more and more. I orginally paid $575 for mine 12 years ago. I paid $100 for a 77 z28. Now the 2nd gen are starting to get up there for a rebuidable car. Mine is going to be up for sale later in the year, after I do some work to it. Here is a website that I got these number off of. http://www.camaro-registry.com/production.htm

I know there were a lot of 79 t tops but how many were made into the full t top by Cars & Customs. these are the ones where the tops meet in the middle with no body in between.

Rare does not necessarily mean valuable. For comparison, a 2010 Camaro with an aftermarket sunroof is not worth more than one with the OEM sunroof or even no sunroof at all.

As for it being rare, I would guess there are fewer cars out there with those tops than the standard tops, so yes it is more rare than those cars with standard tops.

I personally have never seen that top option. It is pretty cool looking when the tops are on. Too bad the company and installs are not better documented.

It's not a targa. It's more like the t-tops on a 3rd or 4th gen car where the t-tops meet in the middle. Pics Here

I see now. That might make it worth les because of the ability to find the t tops when they need replacement.

They are popular because of the large glass. Just throw it up on ebay with a high reserve and see what happens. When it gets to a price you like, drop your reserve.

I stand corrected. I guess you learn something new everyday. I knew nothing about this particular t top conversion. Now I feel somewhat informed.
