Default Some great news

I got a call from my folks tonight with a little surprise for me. My dad is getting rid of his P&P LS6 heads and his cam for a new setup from TSP... and giving me his stage 3 LS6 heads for my S-10. I will be able to bring my compression up from 9:1 finally and hopefully this setup will help me hit mid 11's. My question is, should I have them sent to TSP to have them ported and polished again while they are off the vehicle?

Raise the compression by having the heads milled is the least I would do.

Well on his car the setup has him at 12:1 with my heads right now im only 9:1 so I should be alright with the way they are setup, and since I am getting them for free, I dont mind spending a couple of bucks to drag every single bit of power out of it

How do you get 9:1? The chambers on LS6 heads are 6cc smaller than stock LQ4 #317s. You are probably more like 9.5:1.

Carefull on milling them, your cam is fairly large and you might run into PTV issues!

Not sure, thats why I am thinking about sending them to TSP to have them check it out and see what can be done with them. Ever since we bought the heads we never had any specs on them
