Default please help me understand specs on this cam

Duration @ .050 221/221 114+4
Lobe lift .330/.330
Valve lift 1.7 Rocker .561/.561

LA114 is that correct what is the +4 is that advance?

what would be the characteristics of this cam on a stock LS1 with 799 heads?

Duration is how long the valves are open.

Lift is how far the valves open.

The +4 is camshaft advance that is ground into the camshaft.

That cam in a stock headed LS1 would be a good DD cam, have a choppy/fast machine gun sounding idle.

puts the power band slightly lower, that cam wouldn't be too bad down low anyway. that would be a great DD cam and it would sound almost stock depending on your exhaust.

That looks like a Lunati cam, Valve events at .050 are:
0.5>IVO
40.5>IVC
48.5>EVO
-7.5>EVC
118>ECL
-7* Overlap

So in general looks like with LS6 intake about 6000 rpm peak, good midrange trq potential, fairly stealthy, will pass Cali emissions, power range 1400>6300 rpm (346 stock)

I was thinking the same thing, it looks like a little hotter LS6 cam.
