Default coolant temp sensor

car:95 LT1 obd1

I changed the sensor in the waterpump recently and that sensor turned out to be defective(got@Autozone) I went and got a new sensor(from autozone) and know 3 weeks later that sensor is throwing a code??? What is up with that?? Anyone else have this kind of trouble w/ a sensor?? Everything is under warranty but it is a pain in the *** to change that sensor!!! Would a coolant flush make a difference or no??? Coolant has not been changed in long time 5+years this car is not a DD.

thanks

Make sure you don't have a wiring/connection issue.
