Default Swapping transmission's, 08 yukon into an 03 silverado v6?

Hey whats up everyone.

I got a question that a freind needs help with.
He's working on a 03 Silverado with a 6 cylinder engine that he's changing the transmission out on. He was going to swap it with a transmission out of an 08 GMC Yukon he has laying around. But he checked the transmission plug on both and the 03 silverado has a 12 pin connector and the transmission out the 08 Yukon has a 14 pin, same shape connector just has 2 extra pins.

Not sure if this makes sense or not, but is there anyway this transmission will work if they're interchangeable?

Thanks in advance everyone.

The two extra pins are for the INPUT SPEED SENSOR but electrically they are backwards compatable.
Not that familar with the 03 v6 did they still use a 4.3 ? If so the converter/bell/pump stator will not be compatable.

Yeah the truck has a 4.3
Bellhousing and converter lenght are the same on both transmission's, is it the converter thats different, are converter's interchangeble?
The connector will just hook rigth up and work then?

Thanks for the help performabuilt.
