Default 44psi on stock lines = 44psi on braided?

It should right?

I have my A1000 regulator set at 44.2 psi on a -8 feed/-6 return and the car is reallly rich. Im not tuned so i figured that was the main reason but I was loading the car on a trailer recently and the tank was low on gas, getting up on the trailer the pressure gauge dipped to 33psi and held strong, wideband jumped from the 10.2 area its been at, all the way up into the 11.8-12.3 area.

So my question, although I'm untuned, is setting the stock pressure for the original LT1 too much?

The stock setting is OK. The problem sounds like what you have stated.. no tune for the mods you made.
You change inj size?
W/ the low fuel level, it sounds like the pump is injesting air. Not good for pump life.

I also have a hunch that its in the tune. I think the tank being low and creating low pressure kinda made up for the high IFR's the car might have at 44psi.

Any other ideas?

Next, I'd get it tuned. Operating at 10:1 at idle will fill the crankcase w/ fuel, and the brgs will "go south", quickly!
