Default New FC here from NJ, going LS1 with my 87 RX7

Well I have been lurking on here for about a year and a half just doing some research for my project.

I was car shopping a while back and stumbled upon a swapped 7 and was totally sold on the idea.

Plan is to just drive it with the rotary for now and swap it once the drifting season is over, figure I'll get going in late Oct 2009. I've done the suspension/brakes on the car and it is going to go unchanged till the swap. I'm going LS1/T56 JTR longtubes, either using an accusump or a dry sump system, upgrade the timing chain, HP tuners and I have been eyeballing the Thunder Racing cam... mostly reliability mods.

Anyway here is the car:

Bought it bone stock in July 2008 with 60,000 on the clock

Here it is a few weeks later cleaned up and I swapped the bigger TII brakes and 5 lug hubs on to it:

Saved up did the coilovers and some Enkei wheels:

did some basic gauges that will be usable with the swap, oil pressure and water temp

First issue I wanted to address for the swap was the rear end. I got a TII rear end and an aftermarket 1.5way diff... here is a brief look into the diff saga.. I had new bearings installed, backlash set and new bushings installed:

Anyway... looking forward to being a bit more active on this forum.

-Andrew

I love it when people put lsx's into little cars like that. Keep us updated on the project.

Hackensack... there are a few other LSx RX7 around here and my friend has one in a S13.

Other then the seats the interior is bearable... I put a Sparco in on the drivers side and will replace the passengers later down the road.
