Filter Extension or Truck filter?

Filter Extension or Truck filter?
Somebody is selling me this kit new, never installed for $90. My question is the kit brings a "filter extension" should I use this or just go with a truck filter (fits?). I don't like the idea of adding more pieces in there.

I bought a TCI 2 qt deep pan I talked with Summit tech support he told that mine didn't come with a extension. It has like pins in the bottom of pan to keep filter from falling all way to bottom of pan. Call the tech line they are helpful as hell 1-330-630-0240

That looks exactly like my B&M deep pan. I went ahead and used the extension. It still sits in there snug.
I had an old filter I tried to use, but it was a deep filter which I didn't know at the time. So of course, the pan would not fit with the extension. I'd say the deep filter I had was about twice as thick as the stock one, but the neck of it was the same length as stock.
