Is it me or my stall??

Is it me or my stall??
I got my 408 running but driving it I HATE...Since I went way over my budget I was still able to do a couple upgrades to the A4...2&4 super servos, Trans go kit and cooler with fan...
I went full race shift kit and still the stall feels so loose. Car hardly moves until 4k then wow. But who is at 4k on the streets in "normal driving" all the driving is 2-3k. Hardly feel the 1-2 shift. So I think this Fuddle is a piece of ****!! Never mind the 30day drauma I had just to get it back.
I've been thinking VERY hard about the m6 conversion. But don't want to spend the time/$$. I'd consider dumping this TC if I can get the feel I want. I want a car I hit the gas and go.
Can anyone give me advise??? I've got a 3.42 rear with the 408 so this should be a ton of fun.
Looking to redo the stall in June if I can get the feel I want...

You can definitely get a converter that would make the car more street-able and not loose to much at the track. I would suggest our 2C stall, it would be about a 3400 in your setup. But you could probably only footbrake it to about 2500, that gives you an idea on how well it moves the car at low speed. When you are on it it will still flash nicely and with the torque curve you have will still pull hard.

good luck man, dont give up on the auto so quick. let one of the sponsers hook you up with a converter that doesn't go to 4K before the car starts moving WTF is that about?

Maybe I'm off base, but did you make double sure on the fluid level. I had this issue one time with a 3600 vigilnte, and it ended up being a pinched hose on the overflow causing the fluid level to look higher than it actually was. After I got the level right the converter didn't feel near as loose.

yeah the A4s can do some stupid things with fluid being low. As dumb as it sounds, just double check everything, cause Ive never heard of any of the reputable stalls requiring 4K to even get moving. HMMM!

Update the fluid was a little low. Just under a qt. BUT now I have no third! So I'm done with the trans. Looking into a rebuild. I've got like 25 miles on my 408 and have yet to feel any power. Yet it sits in my garage just looking sexy but not puting out

Don't give up yet. Get it scanned first. You converter might have forced a code disabling the 2-3 shift. The tuner tunes that out. I recall it's the misfire table. Or it could also be something as simple as the shift solenoids (about $20 a piece).

Since you only have 25 miles on your build IMO it's doubtful you toasted the transmission this quick.
I have a Yank PY3400 and it drives almost like stock but quickly has a completely different personality when I stick my foot in it.
My Z28 has a HC 347 with D1SC ATI at 8 lbs (565 RWHP) bolted to a Yank PY3400 Extreme followed up with a PeformaBuilt Level III. It's a heck of a combo - your 408 should be the same with the correct parts.
BTW : When you dyno'd the new motor for first tune - how did the TC react on the Dyno?

thanks dland.
25 miles on the set up. The trans I'm sure. I've had no dyno time yet. I had a tune loaded to be able to get the car to idle and drive at least to the dyno. BUT I can't get that far!! I'll scan for codes.
I did have the valve body down for the shift kit. I've done 3 of these before with no problems. I did break a shift solenoid but I replaced it with a ac delco.
I will check some more but my gut says its toast.
Thanks again!!!
