For those that have installed a McLeod RXT or RST, did you need the McLeod 1373 throwout bearing?

Personally I use the stock bearing, never really had a problem with it.

Not to throw a wrench in, but I have come across a few isolated cases that required the 1373. The oem bearing was preloading the p/p. We had to shorten the overall length of the piston to acheive the .125" air gap between the face of the bearing and the fingers on the pressure plate.

To verify if you need a 1373 bearing. Measure from the back mating flange of the bellhousing to the tips of the p/p fingers where the bearing rides. Note this as measurement "A". Then measure from the face of the bearing in it's compressed state to the face of the trans were the bearing bolts up. Note this as measurement "B". Subtract measurement "A" from measurement "B" and you should have a equation of .125" to .250". I persoanlly prefer it to be closer to the .125" mark so that more of the stroke of the bearing is actually depressing the fingers of the p/p and lifting the casting of the disc.
