Default My cage progress pics

I just got a few progress pics of my cage install, remember these are just progess pics there is some welding that needs to be finished up on the tubes and then the seat mount, 5pt harness tabs, and window net go in, once that's done I get to put it all back together, but either way I figured I would share what I have so far...

Bottom plates

Bars going in

Some of the welds, yes that last one isn't finished yet, I know...

No they are straight, and no I was not planning on putting the door panels back in, probably going to an alum panel with felt or carpet covering them...

Thanks, no they are custom bent from what I understand and what I saw at his shop when I dropped it off, but if the installer took the easy way out and bought a kit I am cool with that as long as its a legal CM 10pt I'm happy...

I am just excited to see it getting done, I was suposed to have the cage in months ago before the race season started from a different shop, but had to go with another shop just to get it done...

Thanks JL...

As for the panels, when I get the car back and take a good look at it I may try and do the aluminum work myself or if it looks like a PITA I may just order the wolfe panels and then cover them, but we'll see...

Could you measure the height and the total length of your main bar? I just got my cage and I think it was cut a little short.

I can call down to the shop and see if someone down there can do that on Monday, otherwise I will probably not see the car until all the "On Order" items actually show up and the shop can then install them, so hopefully in a week or so...

^ I am not in any great big hurry. I am going to be out of town for a week anyways, but it would be really helpful. I just measured everything on my cage today and I'm still really not sure how well it is going to fit. I put the measurements in my 93 thread if you click the link in my sig and go to the last page you'll see them.

I was going to call the shop later today to see if there was any progress, or anything withe the items we have on order (seat, window net, and 5pt harness), I will ask if they can measure the bars for you, but they may have just put my car aside until the parts came in, so not sure if that will be possible, either way if you don't get what you need by the time I get the car back I will measure it myself...

Looks good!
They way you attatched the downbars to the halo is kinda different to what I've seen before, more welded surface area which is cool.

Nice job.

Nice job.

If a small bar to make that a triangle was put in to go to the main hoop towards the center of the windshield, that would be a TON stronger then the norm. I do like that idea

Here are a few more progress pics, but I heard that we are pretty much on hold until next week when the Stroud stuff comes in...

Is it me, or just an optical illusion, but is the halo in front of the rear view mirror? If I look hard enough I think I see the contoured(sp?) outline of the mirror as if the bar is between the mirror and the glass, but I can't quite tell. I guess I can call down to the place doing the work on Monday to verify...
