Default Packaging and shipping a T56

I'm going to be sending a T56 to get looked over in a few days, how have you guys packaged your stuff? I was thinking of just building a reusable 2x4 case that the T56 sat in tightly. Anyone think that would be bad if it was just tightly in it with no pading? Any other good options for me?

Also what carrier did you guys use?

I've shipped two transmissions (both auto and t56) in the big plastic tubs you can buy at walmart. Lined it with thick cardboard and packing material. Keep it under 150lbs so you don't have to use truck freight. I used DHL both times but they don't do ground shipping anymore, fedex or ups will work.

I received one like this ^^^ and the one I sent out I packaged like this (it helps to be on good terms with the guys in the shipping department at work ):

Don't remember if it went FedEx or UPS but it was one of them, haha.

We use 45 Gallon Rubbermaid containers. They work very well and ship via UPS ground.

We usually ship our T56 units on a pallet through a freight company. They tend to be easier on the units and the volume is a lot lower so there is less chance of getting lost or stolen.

This is a couple of T5's in the picture but you get the idea......
