Default Oil Pressure

I just got a "new" engine installed after hydrolocking my old engine. I noticed the drivers side head has what looks to be a brand new head gasket (it's blue and the passenger side is a faded beige). When talking to the stealership when it was going in, the guy said they were installing a new oil pressure sending unit. Now for the drive home... It sat for about 4 weeks waiting through all the paper BS. I'm only seeing about 13VDC indicated, but the oil pressure seems a LOT higher. I'm seeing about 60PSI indicated above 1600RPM. My old engine may have had a blown ring ( consumed a little oil, actually shot flames out of the tail pipes when revving once or twice), and I don't in the 30k miles I put in it remember seeing anywhere above about 40PSI indicated when warm. I'm wondering if I either A) my old motor was in that bad of shape or B) The new motor has a ported and/or LS6 oil pump. Oh, BTW car is an 02 z28 with same year engine going in. What do ya'll think?
