Code help! Air pump fault?!?
Hey guys,
so my service engine soon light comes on and i get it checked at autozone. it spits out "P1416", which would be a faulty air pump...according to the guy.....
Never heard of this?
Where is it?
Can this be cleaned?
Could other things be upsetting it?
How hard is it to change?
Thanks,

Your passenger side air tube check valve is sticking or clogged.
It's about 2" around and black. It's screwed into the tube that goes into the exhaust manifold.
Remove it, clean it with carb cleaner and clear the code. Might as well clean the driver's side while you have your hands dirty.
If that doesn't work, you may need a new valve.

I had the same code, cleaned it, cleared code, no problems. If you do not have scan tool, you can go back to autozone after cleaning and clear the code, or just pull neg. side of battery, also can just pull the fuse for the computer for like 20 seconds and replace-not sure which one.

You don't have to do anything, it'll turn off after 3 consecutive cold starts/air system check without a failure. It will stay in history for 40 cycles.
