Question Cumbustion Chambers?

Howdy all,
Theres something i just dont get that maybe you all can help me out with. i just dont understand the sizes of the cumbustion chambers for instance whats the advantage in having 72cc chamber then a 59cc chamber? Does that effect the compression ratio or something? and if it does whats the advantage of having a higher/lower compression ratio? someone please explain.

I know these are stupid questions but Cars really intrest me and i just am trying to understand more about them

Thanks
~Tom

The smaller the cumbustion chamber the higher the compression. There is a thread stickied that tells you a lot of good stuff. What size cumbustion chamber equates to what the compresion should be.

But whats the benifit(sp?) of having lower/higher compression? would you want lower compression if you wanted to put on a power adder like nitrious or a blower etc...?

you get more powa out of a lower compresion... search and read and you will find what your looking for.
