Default Trans fluid leak?

My trans fluid is leaking in the middle of the car basically below where the shifter is in the car. I have not had time to get the car up in the air to check what it is yet, so I thought id ask here first for any common things that can leak in that area?

Also how bad is it to have overfilled the trans fluid? I added fluid via the shifter. I added 2 quarts as I didnt know how much has leaked out. I may have overfilled since I dont really think 2 quarts have leaked. Can anything bad happen out of overfilling?

The leak is most likely your transmission output seal. It's the seal where your driveshaft exits your transmission.

As for overfilling, just get under the car and take the plug out of the tranny fill hole. Let the excess drain out and you should have it perfectly full.

When you put the fluid in through the shifter, did you put rtv around the opening before bolting the shifter back down? If not, that's where it's leaking.

Did you put a bleeder hose on the top near where the shifter bolts up? If you didn't run one up and pointing upward, it may very well be leaking out of there if it's not one of the already mentioned issues.
