Pontiac Firebird 1967-2002 - Instrument cluster lights

02 Hawk Red lightting, can i directly change bulbs behind instruments to a blue bulb for blue lighting?

I believe the stock bulbs are clear/white and shine through a red film so there is a process to remove the film, otherwise blue bulbs will have a purple cast through the red film (on a T/A).
