I saw a brown crown vic yesterday on the way home that had someone pulled over and on my way out to softball games had someone else pulled over. I dont know about yall, but there is no way in hell that I am ever pulling over for an unmarked car. Let them follow me.

Do you not have to pull over for an unmarked car?

You do not have to pull over for an unmarked car, but you better pull over when the marked cruiser pulls up.

I can buy a crown vic, I can buy red and blue flashing lights. I can install them and pose as a cop. It has happened in the past.

Which is precisely why you do not have to stop for any unmarked vehicle.

i'm in hawaii right now (been here three years but i'm missing texas more and more each day, be back this august) and almost all the cop cars are personally owned vehicles. the city would rather pay off their cars rather than buy vics or impalas for cruisers. i had a silver sequoia run up on me on my CBR1000RR (i think i made an illegal lane change) with this stupid little blue light going off and i burned his *** up the highway. when i was finally stopped by a LEO (motorcycle cop) i explained that it wasnt marked and that my evasion was self preservation. i of course won in court and even admitted to doing 165 in a 55mph zone. you DO NOT have to stop for an unmarked car. there have been instances where people get robbed or killed by impostors. but dont get all dukes of hazzard or it wont go well for you later

Guys, I'm not sure where you are getting your information...but YES you have to pull over. There is no law stating that a police vehicle has to be marked to pull you over. Now if an unmarked car is pulling you over and you really believe that it's not a police officer, then turn on your hazzard lights, slowly drive to a populated well lit, and call 911 if you really want. But don't do that just to be a smart ***.

does that mean the HPD officers were lying when they told me i didnt have to pull over for unmarked cars?

you dont even have to pull over for a marked car in certain situations, ie a deserted dark road and your alone. You are allowed to drive to a lit and populated area, then you must pull over.

I'm not calling anyone a liar. They are mistaken though. Plus, I'm not sure what the big argument is...if it's a cop, regardless of what he is driving, if it's equipped with red/blue lights and a siren then it's considered an emergency vehicle (that is a law)...which means PULL OVER.

Please my friend, every poor **** has a retired HPD cruiser. It's easy to have lights and a siren. You do not have to pull over for an unmarked car. Drive to a well populated, lit area, and pull over if you chose. If not drive normal until a marked unit arrives. Maybe Ok. operates like that, but in Texas there's enough in the budget to mark the patrol cars.
