Default Transmission Core question.

I have two 700r4 transmissions out of a 93' z28 sitting in my garage, and how much on average are they worth as cores? Needs rebuild, no cracks, just lost 1-2 on one and 3-4 on the other.

Any transmission shops out there have an average on what they go for? Heck I would even use them towards a rebuild on the 3rd one I have if possible.

Thanks guys.

I used to buy cores. 700's were $20, th400 were $40, th350s were $20-$40
I've actually rebuilt and sold two 700's I found set out for the trash, and one out in the woods.

I eventually sold my collection of cores to a sponsor on this site, mainly th400's.
No one locally was even remotely interested. I sold IIRC 8 400's, 1 350, a few 700's, and a 4L80E for $500. I either broke even or lost, I'd say lost given the pain in the *** it was to strap all that to two pallets and ship it via fed ex freight.

They aren't very difficult to build yourself.

It's sad (to me at least) that back when 700 swaps were popular there were transmission hardparts suppliers. Say you needed a gears set for a build you could pick up a good used one for cheap there.

Last I spoke with an ex hardparts business owner most of the older transmissions get more money recycling the metals, not much is made selling the parts anymore, actually he said there is no demand for th350, th400, and 700R4 parts anymore.
