Default Output shaft seal

I have a leaky output shaft seal and was wondering if the entire tranny had to come apart to replace this. I ask mostly because I bought an adjustable torque arm with driveshaft loop so I'll have to take the driveshaft partway out and was wondering if the seal could be replaced from the outside of the transmission. Thanks!

No, you can replace it under the car. While you're at it, now is a good time to replace the driveshaft bushing in the tailshaft housing, too. Takes a special puller to get that out, though.

Drop your driveshaft pull yoke out and get a screwdriver or something and pry out tailshaft seal. Lightly tap new one in making sure it is all the way seated.
