Default Whats most cost effective?

Hey guys,
I am a newly found Corvette lover. I drove an 02 C5 A4 w/ the z51 suspension and LOVED it compared to my current toy.

So let me cut to the chase: I'm 19 years old and in a month I'm going to college for 4 years. My college is paid off thankfully due to scholarships and very generous parents.

I currently have $29,000 cash, but my goal is to save and invest it for 4 years and make it $37,000. Whats the point of a badass car when I can't drive it because I'm away at college.

In 4 years, I want a nice C5/C6 with low miles <45k. My goal is anywhere from low-high 11's and a decent streetable, yet sexy car and refined. I LOVE the look of the new C6's, but should I go with a C5 w/ heads/cam or C5 w/ STS or go with a C6? I'm looking at the automatic versions; as much as I love to drive a stick, I love to cruise at times and just relax and not have to worry about the shifting (I'd obviously throw in shorter gears and a stall to help it out too )

Let me know what you guys think or what combos I should look at that still would give me a decent amount of money left over for a nice DD ($18,000 or so) Keep in mind that I'd be selling my Trans Am and DD Eclipse after college too.

Thanks,
Marc

Yeah, but all in all I want to spend about $30k total on the Vette including mods. LS3 C6 in 4 years might still be out of that budget, and not exactly making my 11 second goal with the fun car.. Although they still are sexy as hell

I say try to find a low mileage C5 and throw a forged bottom end in with a procharger and all the supporting mods in it and have fun.

Even your setup looks very power happy - what are you pushing and running all motor?

I've always wanted to try an overhauled STS kit with a new oil pump (theres supposedly sucks) Has anyone had good luck on the C5/C6's with STS?

I just got the car put back together about a week ago so I don't have it tuned yet. But I think it will put down around 420 rwhp and 400 rwtq.

+1

Save your money, in a good good good good investment, or a secure location. Buy a C6 Z06 and take a MAJOR shortcut to modland.
