what is needed to upgrade to a Viper output shaft??
I will be going through the trans and should make about 500rwhp with DR's and 4:10's tex clutch car is about 3400lbs
I am going to have the trans apart so should I go ahead and uprgrade the output shaft and if so what do I need other that the shaft and will I have to modify anything to do it????

You need to get a Viper mainshaft and cut it back about 2" to accommodate the shorter Fbody case.

You can get a National Seal/Sleeve kit (#5206) to figure out what size to bore out the tailhousing to. The driveshaft slip yoke is a spicer 3-3-3931X

The early Viper units had an 11-tooth VSS reluctor, you might be able to still get from Mopar Parts, sorry no part#. Boring out a 17t Fbody VSS is the most problematic issue for most people trying this. The 11t viper VSS just requires a PCM change.

You will need a Viper mainshaft cut down to the proper length, the tail housing bored out to accept the larger bushing and seal, the proper driveshaft yoke and a modified VSS for the speedo to work properly.
