Default Question About Running Diff Tire Sizes In Rear

Recently had a blowout on one of my tires in the rear, im running 17's in the front and 18's in the rear so i cant really swap the rears to the front. I found a friend who has a spare tire that is a 275/40/18 that he will give to me for free, the other tire in the rear is a 275/35/18 will this cause any problems if used as a temporary fix until i can save up cash for a new matching tire? The car wont be used on any long trips anywhere, just around town to get me back and fourth from work and such. I figure it cant be worse than running a doughnut right?

I would think that it would be cool, its such a small difference and if its just short trips, def better then the doughnut.

Your limited slip differential will HATE you. . . . Not worth destroying the diff over that.

And IIRC the owners manual says to put the spare tire up front, so that both rear tires are the same OD.

go around to the local tire shops and get a pull off or two. not worth a new diff.
