HELP: exhaust too loud
I know it sounds stupid but i keep getting tickets for loud mufflers and i'm tired of it. Is there something i can do to quieten my car down without killing my power? I have LT pacesetters no cats and flowmaster system on it. It has a good size cam in it and love the way it sounds but they dont. Is there something that i can do???

He maybe a bit over the top, but he's not an idiot. What I believe he's trying to say is that the police should have better things to do than bother someone with loud exhaust. Or no front plate, tinted windows, or any other bullshit reason that they use to try to take your money and label you a trouble maker.
To the O.P., I personally will never change my exhaust because someone else doesn't like it. If you like it, keep it. Just stay off the pedal if you're in a situation where you could get in trouble. If this isn't an option, then I would start checking out how some different catbacks sound with LT's/ORY. See what you think is quiet enough and suits your taste and try it. Good luck man and don't let those ******' pigs get you down.

Id look into getting some cats welded into your Y pipe, or if you want to make more power, get a magnaflow. Im running LTs, ORY, and a magnaflow CB and from idle to about 2k rpm its pretty rumbly and quiet, but once you get on it the thing just screams. I personally love how a flowmaster sounds with LTs and a cam, but it can get a bit loud and raspy.

i had the same problem. with my 383 LT's no cats, and LM1 i kepted getting pulled over. I bought a used Borla adjustable catback and blocked off the straight thru pipe and it got real quiet. Im sure you can find a used one real cheap. I got mine for $250. Thru the muffler its real quiet. Oh and if you want to make it loud buy a electric cut-out and place it where the adjustable plates go that way you can flip it open instead of going under the car. That's if money isn't an issue.

Get some hi-flow cats and replace your muffler with a Magnaflow. I got a Magnaflow and people don't believe I got headers. Magnaflow is about quiet as it gets. Only time it roars is when you get on it.

Man that makes me glad cops where I'm at don't give a **** about loud cars. If they did, damn near every honda and lifted truck would have tickets left and right.

i think any exhaust you change wont kill your power might just give you some more power since i hear flowmaster are restrictive...
just keep an eye out there are people that just sell mufflers for our cars like hooker and borla just the mufflers so all you gatta do is cut and weld the new one.
