Does $2300 seem really high for machine work?
So i cracked a piston a couple weeks ago and took the motor out and brought it back to the place that built it about 2 years ago.
The piston messed up the sleeve so i need to get one sleeve replaced. I thought they could replaced one sleeve, bore it out to be the same as the rest, clean, replaced all pistons, rings and bearing.
The are telling me that they have to line bore, replace all the cam bearing also and basically rebuild the entire motor.
They want $2300 just for the engine maching work. Thats with no parts. Is that not alittle crazy?

Ya thats what i said. I mean they said the sleeve is 180 installed,200 for cam bearings.
So thats $380 so where is the other 2 grand going. Boring out the one sleeve and then a little hone on the others so they all match is basically 2 grand.
I think im going to be picking up my motor next week. Oh ya and who else here would even do the cam bearings. They asked me how many miles were on it to determine weather they should replaced them. I said 10k and they said "oh ya we have to replace those". I understand its a high hp motor but i dont see why cam bearings would wear out after 10k.

Predator-z,
Whats your reason for not resleeving the block? Have you seen issues with replacing the sleeve?
I was thinking of replacing the sleeve then getting the entire engine bored out so they all match.
