Default Time for a swap

Well, my 94 Trans Am is down again. ANOTHER Opti. So to solve that once and for all I am going to swap in a 3rd or 4th Gen motor. Probably look at doing an LQ4, also switching from A4 to the T56. Picking up the LS1 engine crossmember with the rack from a WS6 tonight, plus the pedal assembly with all the hydralics. All for $100 bucks. Looks like I'm off to a good start price-wise anyway.
Don't plan to have it done till spring so I have time to sit back and find good deals on things and jump on it when I see them.
I've been reading through this section for a week straight and I'm sure I'll be posting questions. Wish me luck!

Thanks guys.

Good luck with your project! If you haven't already, you will learn that Search and the Stickys are your friends here. Lots of helpful people too.

Post pictures of your progress, we like pictures!

Thanks everyone. Lots of good information already.
Picked up the LS1 cross member, steering rack, and pedal assembly tonight. Very excited.

Not bad for $100 eh? Even came with some control arms. I think I've got some of the harder stuff to find already.

Nice. Try and get the Brakes and Spindles from a LS1 Car too.

I eventually plan to do the C5 brake swap, this winter I went through and got some Brembo rotors and Hawk pads all around, that made a big difference right there and should get me by for a little while anyway. Once I have cash for new wheels I'll do the C5 swap. If I hadn't done that, I would have grabbed them from him too. He had some other dirt cheap stuff I could have sold for more but didn't have room for it.
