?'s on converter choice, a reman tranny, & install
4l60e #1..
So...AT GM Employee cost, a reman OE tranny is over $1200. Built tranny...1800+. Umm no.
Then I saw these... Transplant Transmissions, AZ for about $650. Is this thing going to last? 6 months? A year? As long as my OE? Penny up for a gm rebuilt...or stick with this?
Now, Ive owned both a vig 3200, and a midwest 3200 2.5. Loved em both, but its time to step up. I drive around ALOT. Im considering the YankSS3800 2.5. Good call?? Any other suggestions? I do a lot of highway roll ons and this Midwest is certainly not the best candidate for it.
Finally...my not so mechanically inclined self, along with a pretty smart buddy will be swapping out the tranny and verter ourselves. Anything to look for? tips and tricks? website instructions?
Ok thats it...I dont ask many tech questions around here, so I made this one big. Thanks!

I would go for a SS-4000 with at least 2.5 str. Figure your Vig stalled about like a Yank 3600.
Tranny swap isn't hard at all.. just time consuming. Only thing to be careful of is installing the convert on the tranny. It should be placed in easily and spun till it falls into place.. sometimes you'll here a couple clicks.
You'll need a couple LONG extenions and a swivel head 13mm is a great help.
Take your time, you shouldn't have any problems.
