Those with looped rack...come in! Getting ready to loop my factory rack, but I have a few questions.
Are you draining the rack of the fluid or leaving it in there? Also why can't you just cap off the lines instead of looping them? I'm going to be running AN fittings and braided lines for the loop.

I just looped mine, some fluid leaked out of course, but i didnt drain it all the way, just connected them. I heard you dont want to cap them because pressure would build up and make it harder to turn. Not sure if theres truth to that or not, but Ive had mine looped, drive 60 miles in chicago burb traffic 5 days a week with it no problems.

It is much easier to turn without any fluid. With some in there it tries to compress it, with no where to go.
But then on the flip side what is going to lube it up. I ran mine open line with it all drained and the lines bent so no dirt would get in.

Now did you just undo the lines and let them drain out or did you turn the wheel and force the fluid out? Also I see a lot of people just loop the one set of lines and leave the other set of hard line attatched. Did you do away with all the lines and weld them all up?

Mine is looped with fluid in it. I would want some oil in there. You could always run two hoses up about 12" and connect them to a vented cap mounted to the frame rail or something. Nothing goes in, but air can escape all day long.

I pulled my pump off, cut the lines so there was an inch or so of the stock lines left, and just turned the wheel with the front en up a few times from one side to the other until no more came out, then attached the 2 sides together with a piece of rubber hose and a couple clamps. It's been that way for a long time and no issues. The rack probably still have some fluid in there, but not enough to cause any real pressure issues, and with the lines looped if there's some in there still moving around it's got the ability to go from one side to the other.

now would u remover ur power steering if u still run aa 275 front tire? i still drive mine on the street every once in a while... and i have been thinking about this alot... what do yall think? PLUS my car weighs 4klbs with me in it... and i am 300 so i wanna remove everything BUT the a/c

Yeah I turned the wheel lock to lock several times to get most of it out.
With the 275 front tire it takes quite a bit of effort.
Eventually I am going to get the Madman rack, but for now the capped off stocker is doing the job, its great for the arms too!
