Talking My Old '97 Mustang GT

Thing was slow as a dog :biglaugh: I had a 1997 Mustang GTS (I know the real GTS were in '95 and '96 see my mod list) with every bolt on imaginable.

The best the car ran on 275/40 Nitto DRs was a 14.01 @ 96.28 with a 1.8 60' :biglaugh:

I also took the spoiler off from time to time

Here are some pics that i jsut scanned. You get the idea

1997 MUSTANG GTS w/98 GT Motor

Engine
K&N Air filter w/Removed Air Silencer | Steeda 180* T-stat | MSD Coil Packs | MSD 8.5mm Wires | Gutted Factory MAM | Phenolic ½” Intake Spacer | Steeda UDP | Steeda T/A (15*)

Exhaust
BBK Long Tube Headers | BBK O/R H Pipe | MagnaPack C/B

Drive Train
Steeda Tri-Ax | FMS 4.10 Gear | Center Force Stage II Clutch | Nitto Dr's

Engine Option 248A Reductions
Which are: No Power Windows/Doors | No Fog Lights (i added them) | No ABS | No Rear Defrost | No Leather Seats | No MACH 460

I know they're usually slow, but anything can be made to be fast, right? A stang of that body style is what fueled my need for American muscle before I ever got my first car. The one I'm talking about was a nasty *** yellow with black stripe car with who knows done to the engine. I was clueless back then but I knew it was faster than the average car by far. When dude put it in drive the *** would raise... It had steeda stickers on it. Don't know if it was a real one or not. I remember it being rich *** hell though because when he revved it, all I'd smell was gas. I still loved that car though.

these new 5.0s that are supposed to be coming out have my attention pretty good. They're talking about 400hp/400tq. That's in the neighborhood of my car and I don't know how much they're going to weigh. All I know is its going to be a little while before I can do any worth a damn hp mod to my car because I got bills-n-**** lol I'm planning on forging and turboing. When I'm done it should be another few decades till I should be worried again lol

I'd imagine the car will weigh a fair bit, if they want it to pass the 2012 safety standards (which the Camaro and Challenger do, part of the reason for their weight).
