Angry got busted by the FUZZ!!

Well, came over a hill doing about 75-80 in a 55 construction zone and there he was! DAMN! I put to much faith in my, now obvious, P.O.S. radar detector. This shows me that I need a new one, what should I get? Money is no problem!

Valentine One. Don't forget the remote display. There's no reason others should benefit from your (rather substantial) purchase.

Passport 8500 or the Valentine Both are very good the 8500 is cheaper but very close to the valentine. These are by far the best. Dont bother with any other brrands.

I also shelled out for the V1.

I wish I could turn off the X band detection though.

If you have a newer model you can. Just turn the unit on, press and hold the volume ****, first a half L will appear, "Logic mode". Logic mode will allow the X band reports to be at muted volume. The full L is "Advanced Logic" and will not report any X band at all, unless it determens it may be a real source.

This works much better, as I have not seen Police use X in a long time.

As for the Detectors, I have both, a V-One and an 8500 Passport. I like them both, and you can't go wrong with either.

I have mine in "L" mode and it picks up less X band but still lets a few in and like you said not many departments are using X band, so I'd like to get rid of it all together.
