Just guessing here, but it looks like water damage. The question is : How?

A little more history on the engine/car might be helpful.

Motor is an 03 Lq4 Cam out of a 2500 truck There were no signs of water in the oil when i drained it all of the other internals look fine and head gaskets looked good. I cant feel it at all on the cylinder wall i am tempted to just run it but I do not want it to cause problems with detonation.

Maybe you should clean it and post another pic, that would help alot. All I can really see is a oily cylinder.

does your motor have piston slap? If so, most engines that have some good slapping going on, usually show those odd wear patterns.
